Is the government of the United States of America too big?  Honestly?

Too big is a question centuries past relevance.  The reality is that Big came a LONG time ago.

My visit to Washington D.C. proves that to me.  The elected officials have lost so much touch with the people that they don't know about the problems right here in Washington D.C.

On one hand, I think it would be better if the seat of government was moved regularly from one state's large metropolis to another's every 5 or 10 years in order to avoid the disproportionate spending here compared to main street USA.  But, my fear is that the corruption would just spread from here to every state in the Union in equal portion.

In school districts around D.C. we have examples of THE worst schools in the USA for a number of metrics.  Crime is unbelievable.

If you think people in Houston want to have the government do everything for them, that is 100 times more of a problem here. The problem is the difference between right and privilege.

Am I witnessing the fall of Rome?  I don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised.  The people here from public servant to cop to waiter to hotel clerk make it painfully clear that they believe it is a right for them to be served by big government.  The only place that attitude is worse in my travels is Hawaii but at least there they are nice.

Washington D.C. wasn't all bad.  Truth be known, more than half of the people I bumped into here were from other countries.  The history was amazing.  Proof under the noses of big government that even the simple times of the founding of our country screamed the potential failure points of our country and those now dim in the din of the ruckus of hustle and bustle in our nation's capitol.

How can "representatives" here purport to represent me?  They are so separated from reality it is impossible.

Some would have you believe that deregulation of electical power in Texas might be failing.  However, everytime a major industry has deregulated there have been ups and downs.  But, the most important thing has been that there has been a major transfer of money.  Sure you could wait while others make the millions.  Or you could figure out how to get your part of the residual income slated to go to those who build during this wild-west of the deregulation of electricity in Texas.  Other states have got to follow once Texas succeeds.  Do you want to wait until most people are comfortable?  Successful people learn to live with and even ejoy being a little bit unconfortable.  Trust me, I heard that from a multi-millionaire.
